Under The Bough - Hand-Loomed Chair Hammock

Our loomed chair hammocks are handcrafted from 100% cotton and sustainable eucalyptus timber.

The sling is hand woven on a traditional shuttle loom to create a comfortable textured sling. It features hand-knotted fringes and tassels and boasts generous suspension cords for strength and even weight distribution.

The wooden brace is hand-carved out of local eucalyptus and features wooden pegs at each end to attach and secure the knotted handles. Eucalyptus is a fast-growing, sustainable hardwood, readily available in the area, and perfect for outdoors⏤it is especially resistant to moisture, rotting and decay. 

Handmade in Paraguay. Because each hammock is handmade, variations in size and appearance may occur.

Sling: 100% cotton

Brace: Eucalyptus

Machine-washable: Wash separately in cold water on a gentle cycle. Remove sling from wooden brace.

Tie loose ends: Bind the suspension cords and tie the tassels together before washing to prevent tangling.

Hang to dry: In order to preserve the hammock, do not tumble dry. 

TIP: The natural color of the cotton will whiten with time as it is washed and with sun exposure – To maintain its creamy, off-white color, we recommend giving your hammock a diluted tea or coffee wash prior to washing. Alternatively, bleach may be used to achieve and maintain a bright white color.
